Youth Singers needs your support. As a registered charity Youth Singers can issue a tax receipt for all donations above $25, subject to CCRA regulations. Donations can be directed to General Operation, Facilities, Wardrobe, and our Bursary Fund. Also consider a donation via the Youth Singers Development Foundation towards professional develoment and the mentorship program. Youth Singers charitable registration number is 12709 6030 RR0001.

Founded by Shirley Penner, Youth Singers has positively impacted thousands of young people and their families since 1985 by attracting top teaching talent to her team.

Superior instruction

The calibre and commitment from our music educators is exceptional. Our very special group of part-time artistic staff give more than full-time of their hearts to the young people who inspire them.

Committed Volunteers

35,000 hours of volunteer time every year make us run. Backstage, Logistics, Sets, Wardrobe, Music Library, Tour Planning, Events, Fundraising - volunteers make it all happen.

Recognition of excellence

With repertoire spanning every genre, the Youth Singers has been recognized on a national and international level for their superior level of performance ability, excelling at music competitions locally and abroad. Most recently, Youth Singers competed with the most prestigious choral organizations in the United States in two New York festivals, winning top awards in both. Youth Singers’ curriculum has also been accredited by Alberta’s Minister of Learning.

The earlier they begin, the sooner they reap the advantages. Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills are the fundamental success factors for the 21st century global workplace.

Mentoring

Providing opportunities for youth to learn and take on challenges and responsibility is a big part of what we do. They are shown by example how influence and knowledge work in a positive and powerful way.

Positive peer support

Our participants learn from each other: how to best express themselves, work as a team, take on leadership roles and together, strive towards excellence.
