Laura Hambley

Vice Chair. Founder, Canada Career Counselling. Adjunct Professor of Psychology, University of Calgary

Laura began volunteering with the Youth Singers of Calgary in 2018, when her daughter Cadence started in the Kidazzle program in grade 3. Laura joined the Board in 2019, and has been involved in Fund Development and the HR committee since. She serves as Vice Chair of the Board, and along with her husband, Scott Lovett, is Honorary Chairing Hearts Out 2024, YSC’s annual fundraising gala.

Dr. Laura is a Registered Psychologist and Business Leader, having founded several psychology practices in Canada since 2009, including Canada Career Counselling and Synthesis Psychology. She runs the widely followed podcast Where Work Meets LifeTM, where she interviews global experts on a variety of topics around thriving humans and organizations, and career fulfillment. Dr. Laura’s areas of expertise include leadership, team, and culture development in organizations, remote/hybrid workplace success, career development, mental health/burnout, and building resiliency through turbulent times. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Calgary, where she is currently an Adjunct Professor.
