Téo L. Blackburn

Téo L. Blackburn was born into a family of creative artists and spent her formative years wishing
her parents would just play the movie. She is now older, wiser-ish, and thankful for the disruptive
lessons on the importance of narrative.

Téo joined her family’s documentary film production company at the age of 18 and spent over a
decade—and more than 12 film projects—serving in various roles. She obtained BA, law and
MBA degrees from McGill University and was recruited by Heenan Blaikie, then one of Canada’s
leading labour law firms, to work as a student in their entertainment and immigration groups.
Later, she would return to the Faculty of Law at McGill University to assist its researchers with
promotion and funding.

For the past 7 years, she has been working at Concordia University, where she has had the privilege
of being entrusted with diverse and engaging mandates—including faculty relations, equity,
diversity and inclusion and academic leadership development. She is currently serving as Director
at Concordia International, where she oversees the management of international partnerships,
projects and relations.
