Need a pick me up during your Christmas shopping? Our music department has got you covered! We’ve been lifting Christmas spirits for hundreds of years; now let us help you find your Christmas magic! The marketing department are the cheerleaders of Christmas who pump everyone up for the big day, the gingerbread and peppermint test kitchens know that food is love and they’re always inventing tasty new treats to get us in a festive mood, and the music department make sure that every radio is playing your favourite Christmas tune and that there are carollers at every door. Can the Fa La Land team push the “Fa La Land Christmas Spirit-o-Meter” over the top by Christmas Eve? Truthfully, isn’t that what Christmas all about? The magic is not in the glitz and glamour of the season but in the moments of magic we create for each other that keep the Christmas Spirit alive.

Join us on an epic journey down The Great White Way with all the Broadway hits we’ve always wanted to do, in one show! Youth Singers of Calgary presents 100 years of musical theatre tradition, from “Kiss Me Kate” to “Dear Evan Hansen”; from the classics you love to the newest hits. Join us in the costume department, visit the green room, peek into a showmance, and sit in on audition with us this evening. Tonight, we pull back the curtain on the theatre process and, in turn, we will reveal how we process life through theatre.

The local television station, YSCTV, has decided to run a 24-hour Christmas Movie Marathon in order to compete with the super popular subscription channel, “Flixmas”. Rounding out their “all Christmas, all day” programming with many of the best Christmas TV specials, re-airings of GLEE’s Christmas episodes and favourite musical moments from Christmas at Rockefeller Center; our hosts are not going off the air until they win the ratings race for Christmas specialty channels. Today’s show features music from classics such as White Christmas, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Nightmare Before Christmas, Elf, Polar Express, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and many more! We’re sure you’ll hear some beloved Christmas classic music as you join us on the hunt for the best Christmas ratings ever!

Everyone has a favourite Christmas memory; yours might be of a special time, when things maybe felt a bit simpler, and that feeling all comes rushing back when you hear a favourite Christmas carol. Or perhaps, for you, it’s the memory of a Christmas when you received a well-loved toy and the joy that gift brought you. “Toy Wonder” follows one special little toy as he guides us on a journey through eight decades of Christmas memories and the music that has helped make those moments last

Our story begins as all good fairytales do...Once upon a time, there were three children who went for a walk in the woods. Before long, they were lost, and they quickly realized this was no ordinary walk in the woods, for this was an enchanted forest, full of characters and creatures from the wildest parts of their imaginations. With the help of a friendly genie, who they meet along the way, the children are in for an adventure full of music, magic and mayhem as they each have their “Wish: Granted”!

Three pairs of racers have signed up to compete in a race around the world for the ultimate prize: a trip to The North Pole! Matty and Justine are super confident that they can win this race. They are overachievers who have spent a year getting fit, studying maps, and learning languages. They are pumped; they are ready! Holly and Ivy are Santa Superfans. They are absolutely beside themselves that they could possibly win the opportunity to meet their favourite man in red! However, can they harness their excitement and be successful at the race? Only time will tell. Our final racing pair, boarders Aaron and Caleb, stumbled upon this race by accident, thinking they were signing up for a contest to win lift tickets to the local ski hill. They are still pretty stoked once they find out that they could get to travel to the North Pole – who knows, they could shred some gnar pow at the top of the world! Our contest gets underway in beautiful Banff National Park, at the Christmas in the Rockies Concert. Join us as we meet our host and learn the rules of the game, and let the Incredible Christmas Race begin!

We all have our favorite songs, but what about the rest of the great big musical world out there? This May, Youth Singers of Calgary presents APPLAUSE, a story of the push and pull between old and new, traditional and nouveau, and our favorites -- whether brand-new or time-tested -- that move us and make us want to sing along!

Every year on the 24th of December, 200 magical tickets make their way to 200 deserving people. These tickets are for a ride on a magical train that runs only once a year: the Christmas Eve Express. This amazing trip is just for people who, throughout the year, show amazing Christmas spirit. Our guests and passengers, who have done so much for others, are treated to all the amazing sights and sounds of the season on a musical journey unlike anything they have experienced before. On this, the most magical night of the year, anything can happen; and the best news is... you have been invited as well.

It seems like any other Sunday afternoon; kids hanging out in the basement, playing video games, but for four ordinary brothers and sisters - adventure awaits!   Quest of the HeartSong! is an epic role-playing video game in a mythical world, a musical journey through four beautiful realms; earth, wind, fire and water.  Along the way there are many creatures, some who are there to help, some who are there to hinder.  Difficult challenges await and it will take wit, bravery, skill and cooperation to master each level.  Today you will be transported into a virtual world unlike anything you have seen before.    Enter the Game.  Press Start.

This year Calgarians have truly shown the spirit of giving. For this holiday production we were inspired by the hope, hard work and heartfelt volunteerism after the June floods and began to imagine a way we could tell a story through music that would pay tribute. Watch as the Jones family prepares for the holiday season by encouraging their kids to “pay it forward” to neighbours and strangers alike. Some people may resist or take advantage of your kindness, as is the case with Miss Crank, but you never know what small gesture will make a difference. We hope you enjoy this festive event full of musical acts of kindness.

Who wouldn’t love to spend Christmas in Hawaii? Regan, that’s who! She’s a plucky little girl who looks forward to Christmas traditions, snow games and time with family. However, this year they haven’t put up any decorations or baked any goodies and as her family heads off for tropical fun she is accidentally left behind. Her panic is short-lived as she looks on the bright side of things, happy to have the run of the house. Her family quickly realizes their mistake, calls her and tells her they’re on their way back for her. Now Regan must get the house ready for the perfect “at home” Christmas she was longing for! Through all sorts of music and mischief and with the help of some magical characters, Regan learns that home is where the heart is…especially for the holidays.
