Laura began volunteering with the Youth Singers of Calgary in 2018, when her daughter Cadence started in the Kidazzle program in grade 3. Laura joined the Board in 2019 and has been involved in Fund Development and the HR committee ever since. As of October 2025, she serves as Chair of the Board.

Dr. Laura is a Registered Psychologist and Business Leader, having founded several psychology practices in Canada since 2009, including Canada Career Counselling and Synthesis Psychology. She runs the globally followed podcast Where Work Meets Life, where she covers a variety of topics around thriving humans and organizations, career fulfillment, and advocating for a better world. Dr. Laura’s areas of expertise include leadership, team, and culture development in organizations, career development, mental health/burnout, and eradicating toxic leadership. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Calgary, where she is currently an Adjunct Professor.
